Early childhood education often focuses on what children should be learning, without enough attention to how they are able to engage in the first place. Too often, young children are placed in environments where relationships change frequently, expectations are unclear, and learning is expected before children are truly ready to engage.
At Cherry House Academy, we approach this differently. We focus first on helping children build the ability to engage, develop relationships, and feel secure within their environment.
From that foundation, learning becomes more natural, more meaningful, and more effective.
Rethinking Early Childhood Education
Who We Are
Cherry House Academy is an early learning environment intentionally designed to be more structured, more connected, and more consistent than traditional childcare settings.
Rather than large shifting classrooms environments, children are part of smaller, more connected classroom communities where children are able to build relationships, understand expectations, and feel a true sense of belonging. This allows children to develop the ability to engage, regulate, and participate more fully in their environment - making learning a more natural and meaningful process.
What We Value
We value connection before instruction, structure without rigidity, and environments where children feel both supported and capable.
We believe early childhood is a time to build not only foundational skills, but also confidence, independence, and an understanding of how to engage with others in meaningful ways.
